Thanks to the internet, the entire world knowledge is available at any moment, and people who are interested in living a healthy lifestyle can easily learn everything about nutrition and exercise. The most basic tips for being healthy include eating healthily, getting plenty of exercise, and getting enough sleep.

But when it comes to getting enough sleep, are we getting too obsessed with it? Is it really necessary to sleep as much as we can and can sleeping too much have the opposite effect of what we want?

The optimal amount of sleep for adults is seven to nine hours per night. Just like the lack of sleep can lead to various physical and mental health problems, similar can happen if you sleep too much. Sleeping for 10 or more hours every day will actually leave you feeling tired, anxious, and forgetful.

Does this mean that you need to stress about the exact amount of sleep you’re getting every night? Not really. You probably have a wake-up schedule already, depending on your daily activities, so all you need to do is adjust the time you go to bed in the evening. Give your body enough time to rest and enjoy the benefits of proper sleep.
