Don’t Check Your Phone Before You’ve Gotten Out of Bed
We know it’s hard to resist the urge to scroll before you leave your comfy bed, but, seriously, this is one of the best things you can do for yourself! Giving yourself time to wake up without a screen in front of your face will help your mood. It will even give you time to have your own thoughts before being flooded with news and life updates from others.
Move Your Body Every Day
Even if it’s only 5 minutes of stretching or a 20-minute walk, moving your body is a great way to improve your mental health and show care for your body. Especially if your job keeps you sitting at a desk for hours on end, movement is one of the best things you can do for yourself!
Validate Your Emotions
A lot of people fall into the trap of judging their emotions. If you are ever guilty for feeling “negative” emotions, you can benefit from finding ways to validate your emotions. This can be in the form of journaling freely (without censoring what you write), meditating, or even beginning to see a therapist to work through your emotions.
