Method dressing is one of Hollywood’s biggest red carpet trends right now, and no one is doing it better than Margot Robbie. The Australian actress delivered a series of looks inspired by Barbie’s past while promoting Greta Gerwig’s new film, and here are five that knocked us off our feet.
The Original – Sydney
The original Barbie from 1959 was dressed in the iconic black and white swimsuit, and Robbie paid homage to this look with a Hervé Léger mini dress in Sydney.
Day To Night – Seoul
Robbie kept bringing back some of Barbie’s iconic looks in South Korea. In one of her most over-the-top red carpet moments to date, she switched between two pink outfits that pay homage to “Day to Night” Barbie from 1985.
Totally Hair – Mexico
Robbie took us on another walk down memory lane in Mexico, where she rocked a colorful Emilio Pucci gown that took us straight to the 90s and recreated Barbie’s “Totally Hair” hairstyle.
Solo in the Spotlight – Los Angeles
Robbie mostly wore pink while promoting this film, in an attempt to pay homage to Barbie’s signature color, before deciding to switch the gears for the world premiere. She shined bright like a diamond in a dazzling black Schiaparelli gown inspired by “Solo in the Spotlight” Barbie.
Enchanted Evening – London
Robbie’s red carpet look in London was nothing short of spectacular, and she took us straight back to the 60s with this dramatic Vivienne Westwood gown, paired with a pearly choker.
