Cornwall, in the far south-west of the UK, is a small county that punches far above its weight. Its delicious food, pretty villages and amazing coastline have made it world famous. In fact, Cornwall boasts over 400 beaches! With so many to explore, finding a favorite can be tricky. Here are three of the best.

Pentewan Beach

What it lacks in size it more than makes up for in charm, with soft rolling sands and a crystal blue sea. A favorite swimming spot, this beach is often noted for its clean and safe waters.

Carne Beach

This beach is a rare find, in that it is one of Cornwall’s emptiest. Flat sands stretch out for miles either side of you and the waves roll gently in. If you do happen to tire of the beach, head to the nearby Carne Bay spa for some relaxation and pampering.

Poldhu Cove

A National Trust owned beach, Poldhu Cove is incredibly well-maintained. The steep cliffs rising on either side of the cove also make this a stunning photography spot. One of these cliffs is home to the Mullion Cove golf club, so you could always combine a swim with an attempt at hitting a hole-in-one!
