We can all agree that wet towels don’t seem like a big and unsolvable problem? As long as you change them on a regular basis you are good to go. The issue is that there are many hidden germs that live on our towels, which we are unable to see.

Damp towels are an ideal breeding environment for all sorts of bacteria that we transfer while using them. The first indicator that you towel is ready to be washed is the smell. If you smell any kind of odor that’s a sure sign of microbes growing.

Experts advise that we use our bath towels only three or four times before tossing them in the wash. Of course, if the towel stayed wet for a longer time and it smells weird, it’s definitely time to change it.

When it comes to hand towels, since they’re used by all the members of the family, they should be changed every two days. This also applies to any hand towel you keep in the kitchen.

All towels should be washed on high temperatures in order to kill all the germs.
