Why the Girls That Scuba Network is Worth a Follow

If you love the ocean or anything to do with it, you should know about the Girls that Scuba Network. The organization was founded by travel blogger Sarah Richard after she worked as a diving instructor in Micronesia. As the only female instructor, the project started as a way for her to find other women to go diving with.

However, what started as a Facebook page skyrocketed in popularity, becoming the largest online community of female divers within five months of its creation. With such a huge international following Girls that Scuba expanded into other branches, including Girls that Freedive, Girls that Tech Dive, and even a GTS Book Club!

So why does Girls that Scuba’s worth a follow? On their website, Girls that Scuba have all of the information that you could possibly want about diving: a shop for gear, advice on how to keep warm while diving, articles about notable people from the GTS community.

Beyond providing a supportive international community for women, the GTS website has a wealth of resources including events and retreats with the organization, reviews of diving locations, a job board for divers, and some absolutely unreal photos from various dives contributed by the community.

If you love the water and are stuck inside, go check out @girlsthatscuba and @girlsthatfreedive on Instagram to live vicariously.
