Anyone that’s made healthy changes to their lifestyle has gone through a plateau and when it happens it can be really discouraging. You’ve started exercising and eating healthier, but all of a sudden you’re not noticing any changes. It’s really frustrating, but it’s part of the journey. Here’s how to get over a health and fitness plateau.

Revaluate Your Diet

At the beginning of your journey you were probably a lot stricter with what you were eating, but now that months or years have passed, you’ve probably become more lenient. This isn’t a bad thing, but it may be derailing your progress. To get back on track, start paying more attention to what you’re eating and make sure you’re drinking lots of water.

Switch Up Your Workouts

Your body has probably gotten used to your workouts, so it’s time to increase the intensity, try something new, or exercise for longer.

Make Sleep a Priority

It’s amazing how much sleep impacts every aspect of your life. When you don’t get enough of it, your body releases the stress hormone cortisol, which can lead to body fat accumulation.

Get Rid of the Scale

We get that the scale is the easiest way to track your progress, but it’s not the most accurate. Instead, look at before and after photos and how your clothes fit you.
