It can be tricky to design a small space, but with a few smart ideas, you can be living large in quite a small space. Read on for some ideas.

A low couch

A couch is a central piece of a living area and can make quite a statement. The trouble with many couches is that they can seem to take over the whole room.

The solution here is to invest in a shallow depth couch. It will look less dominant in the space, and add a splash of chic to your small living area.

Use vertical space

Look up! We sometimes forget about anything that’s above eye level, but in a small space, it’s a great idea to maximize utilization of vertical space. A mix of prints and artworks or a collection of photographs arranged vertically on a wall can add a personal dose of creativity to the room.

Get some plants

And plenty of them. They add interest to a room, and if they’re in fabulous planters, they can add massive visual impact. Choose plants according to the size of the area you want to place it in, and use smaller plants for smaller areas.
