We all do that mistake of washing a piece of clothing and shrinking it to a size only a kid could wear. If you’ve done that many times before, you’ll be happy to hear that there is actually a solution. Sweaters are a very vulnerable category, so that’s why we listed the procedure that will help you unshrink sweaters.

What You Need:

Make sure to get baby shampoo, a bucket for soaking, a large board (foam or cork), white fluffy towel and stainless steel t-pins.

What to Do:

Pour warm water in a bucket together with two tablespoons of baby shampoo. Place the sweater in the bucket and wait for between 20 minutes to 2 hours. As a substitute for the shampoo, you can also use hair conditioner or fabric softener. Remove the liquid and squeeze the sweater just a little bit.

Place it on the towel and roll it. Then, place it on the board, while also really stretching it. Use the pins to secure it on the board. Wait for several hours, then you can try to stretch it a little bit more. Do this until you’ve reached the size you need. This is such an easy way to unshrink sweaters.
