From starring in blockbusters such as The Wolf of Wall Street and The Suicide Squad to becoming the new Barbie, Margot Robbie has put an enormous effort into maintaining her wellness as she continues to take her career to new heights. Here are some of this A-list actress’s techniques for staying fresh and energetic that you can apply to your life.

Cardiovascular Fitness

When Robbie trained for her figure skater role in I, Tonya, the key to achieving fitness lay in her dedication to exercise. Robbie worked out five days per week, focusing on conditioning her core and legs as well as her cardiovascular fitness. When preparing for her role in Suicide Squad, Robbie focused on boxing and leg workouts.

Everything In Moderation

Robbie admitted that while it is important to maintain a healthy diet, she doesn’t find it easy. “I’m not good at moderation”, Robbie explained, adding “I get miserable if I don’t eat.” As a result, Robbie allows herself to enjoy some sweet desserts and wine on occasion so long as she sticks to a healthy diet. The Australian actress makes sure to limit her intake of saturated fats and sugary drinks.

Take A Breath

During her work on the Barbie movie, Robbie took up meditation and breathing exercises as a way to reduce stress. In fact, Robbie continued participating in these exercises even after wrapping up the movie, suggesting that it is indeed an effective way to keep calm.

Getting a professional massage is a luxury but it’s something we all deserve at some point in our lives. If you’ve got a little extra cash to splash, why not treat yourself to a massage? Massages can be super beneficial for all kinds of reasons.

Reduce Stress & RELAX

Having a massage is incredibly relaxing and it’s a time for you to just ‘be’. Book a massage during a stressful time at work and you’ll be amazed at how your troubles simply melt away.

Soothe Aching Muscles & Release Tension

Sitting hunched over our phones or laptops and spending hours sitting at a desk can lead to a sore back, neck, and shoulders. Getting a massage is a great way to soothe tired muscles, work out any knots, and kinks and release tension. It might be sore at the time, but you’ll certainly feel the benefits later on.

Connect With Your Body

A massage is a time to connect with your body and give it the love it deserves. Your masseuse/masseur may have interesting insights into your wellbeing from the tensions in your body, and can give you advice of life changes that will help improve your life in other areas.

Enjoy Health Benefits

Regular massages are also thought to benefit immunity, circulation, blood pressure, anxiety, headaches, and more! Once you’ve had one massage, you might just be tempted to sign up for a course!

Life is stressful, and even if it weren’t before, we believe this year got to most of you. Work, relationships, home life, and now the pandemic is affecting your life whether you notice it or not, but some level of stress is to be expected in adulthood. It’s not good when you get too much stress, and here are three signs that you may be stressed out.

You’re Constantly Feeling Irritable

If you get irritated really easily or you get particularly impatient, that’s likely a sign that you need to slow down. It’s not unusual for people who are under a lot of stress to lose it over something trivial like a broken glass. so take that as a sign that you need a break.

You Can’t Make Decisions

Stress makes you feel constantly tired and chronically feeling like that may make you less confident in making decisions. It may be something small like what to wear in the morning or something much bigger, but take note of this when it happens.

Skin Picking

Skin picking, as well as biting your nails and similar behaviors are a way to do something with your hands while your mind works on something that stresses you out. Add feeling restless and unable to focus and it becomes clear that you need to give yourself a break.

Given so many social media posts on the topic, you probably already know that you’re not the only one who doesn’t feel their best right now. The same feeling has probably been following you since the beginning of this year and there’s a good reason for it.

Have you heard of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs? Abraham Maslow was an American psychologist who created this theory of psychological health. According to him, your psychological health hand wellbeing is determined by fulfilling the groups of needs in priority.

View this post on Instagram

Where do you fall in the pyramid of Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs? . Deficiency needs make up the first four levels of the pyramid.  For instance, if you lack water (Physiological Need) you will do what it takes to get it. The final level, self-actualization, is a growth need.  This level of achievement will come after you have fulfilled the other levels, working your way upwards, to your own needs and satisfaction. . . Remember, your growth process will meet you where you’re at as long as you’re willing to put in the effort. Each level doesn’t have to be fulfilled at 100%, only according to where needs are met. None of the levels work in a vacuum, although they all effect one another. And yes, it is possible to be in different stages of motivation or change to work on multiple levels at one time, but it will be more challenging, naturally impacting your emotional and mental health. For example, if you lose your job, it can be really hard to be the best spouse you can be because you are preoccupied with being unemployed (Safety Need). Likewise, if you are homeless (Physiological Need), it is extremely difficult to also work on the two uppermost levels – self-esteem and the desire to become the most one can be (Self-Actualization- opportunity to fulfill one’s potential). And again, when safety (preservation of life and sense of security) needs are not met, posttraumatic stress may occur. . . Recognize where you’re at in the pyramid and be cognizant of your innermost thoughts and emotions to avoid compromising your physical and mental health. . . One thing to note, more updated pyramids have added another top layer- “Self-transcendence”… or sense of meaning. Essentially. It’s how you make sense or meaning of the world and your framework. . . #maslows #maslowshierarchyofneeds #copingskills #mentalhealth #mentalwellness #mentalhealthday #psychotherapy #mentalhealthawareness #selfactualization #psychologists #growthmindset #mindfulness #psychotherapy #blackdoctors #mentalhealthmatters #blacktherapists #familycounseling #marriagecounseling #familytherapy #perspective #personaldevelopment #psychologist #mindfulnessmeditation #brainrewiring #brainhealth #LCSW #phd

A post shared by blueMind. | Wellness Project (@bluemindremedy) on

The idea is that the lower parts of the pyramid need to be satisfied before you can move onto the next levels. For example, a person whose basic needs like food and water aren’t satisfied won’t think about esteem needs or self-actualization. 2020 has messed up many of our critical lower needs so it’s absolutely normal to feel shaken and insecure.

With everything that’s going on in the world right now, it’s understandable that your focus is back to some of the more basic needs. If you lost your job, you’re probably worrying about rent and food. If you’re isolated, your social needs aren’t met. Don’t be so hard on yourself and accept that this may not be the best time to strive for fulfillment and having the job of your dreams. Taking care of your basic needs should be a priority right now.

If you’re feeling like you’re constantly doing something and yet nothing gets done, know that you’re not alone. Many people are feeling overwhelmed with all the challenges life throws at them so it’s useful to have tools for overcoming this.

Don’t Set Unrealistic Expectations

If you’re continually planning super-productive days and fail to finish all the tasks from your to-do lists, you’ll quickly start feeling frustrated. This will make you even less productive and drag you into a vicious circle. Get your priorities straight and learn how to say no when needed.

Take Breaks

Take regular breaks from work, but also from content consumption, social media, and endless notifications. Let your mind relax and recharge when it needs it.

Make Yourself a Priority

If you don’t take care of yourself, it will be difficult to take care of anything and anyone else. You need to leave room for self-care and see what your body needs and wants before you move on to tasks that need to be done.

Staying healthy and keeping your immunity in check is crucial in times like these. The whole world is currently affected by the coronavirus outbreak and many countries are enforcing people to stay home and help prevent the spreading of the virus. Here’s what you can do every day to feel better while stuck at home.

Smile More

Smiling, even if it’s forced at first, helps your body and mind fight stress and makes you feel better. Watching comedies and consuming other entertaining content can also help, as well as talking to people you love over the phone or video chat.

Take a Lunch Break

This is important for two reasons. No matter if you’re working on a computer or cleaning and organizing your home, taking a break is good for your health and well-being. Additionally, having something nutritious to eat will keep you going without additional stress and anxiety.

Limit Social Media

Browsing through social media and catching up with friends and celebrities is a fun pastime activity, but be careful not to let it take over your life. It’s easy to start comparing to others and feel bad about your life, and that’s the kind of stress nobody needs right now.

Having a daily routine is important if you want to stay on track with working toward your goals and lead a more productive life. But do you know how important it is to change up the routine every now and then? As important as it is to have it, it’s crucial to review it after some time and change it up a bit.

https://www.instagram.com/p/B0IV8qXhpwP/

Why is this so critical? Because introducing new things and activities into your life brings you new value and opens up new possibilities. Whether the new things come from new goals you’ve set or from the desire to lead a more interesting life, they are typically good for you. Here are some great examples:

  • Try new food, go to a new restaurant, try a new recipe.
  • Change your personal style, get new clothes, change the hairstyle or color.
  • Try a new exercise regimen, a new hobby, change something in the living space – buy new furniture or move it around.
  • Travel to a new place, meet new people, go to places you’ve never been to before.
  • If you’re always in your car, walk more; change the usual route to and from work, introduce a new after-work activity.

Doing all this will help you be an interesting person and lead an interesting life, which will further help you develop into who you want to be.

January 1st is long behind us, so are you sticking to your New Year’s resolutions? It’s important to be realistic about the resolutions so you can actually follow them all year long. Here are three important ones when it comes to your wellness.

Uplevel Through Focus ⁣ ⁣ You have to let your mind & actions stop exploring or playing with the things you don’t want. Mastering your focus is key. Where your focus flows energy goes. We are 1% matter, the rest is just pure potentiality/energy. It’s our focus that dictates which potentials get expanded. It’s our mindset that dictates our days, months, years & life! ⁣ ⁣ Expand yourself. Work on releasing all limiting beliefs from your subconscious mind. Play with your focus towards the things you do want. Play with your actions towards the things you do want. Stop letting your subconscious mind run the show. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ #inspiration #wellness #manifestation #spiritualawakening #ascension #creators #newearth #alignment #spirituality #quantumself #consciousness #consciousliving

Less Sitting

If you have an office job that makes you sit around all day, make sure to get up and walk more. Even strolling around the office for five minutes every half hour will help you stretch your legs. Alternatively, get a standing desk if you can and stand instead of sitting while you work.

More Water

Drinking plenty of water can do wonders for your whole body. You will feel and look better when you do this so there’s not a single reason to stay dehydrated.

Sharing my story is what healed me… Honesty, vulnerability and showing up as my real self is whats gotten me to this place of real happiness… I suffered with a terrible mental disorder, not even knowing I did for a few years. An eating disorder that I didn’t even realize existed but affects so many of us. I’m not exactly sure how or why mine started in the first place but that no longer matters. But I’m here sharing this because I know I’m not alone… and you aren’t either. In the last 10 years eating disorders have staggered 119% and those who are being affected the most are children under 12. I don’t have all the answers but I do know that as an adult woman who’s almost 30 its my job to set the example for our youth, for my children one day. We take the place of role models, parents, and examples. We are the mirrors that young children strive to be. So if I’m going to do better its for myself of course but its for them. We have a choice and each moment is another opportunity to choose differently, to make a positive change, to see things differently, and to be better versions of who we really are. This is something we can and will overcome. If you are suffering in silence, you are not alone… you are so much more than your body and you deserve to know that. I’m here for you and so many others feel the same. Start slow, share your story, reach out.. each and every one of us is on our own journey and we are not meant to do this alone. We are here to make strides together, to continue to be better together. #mentalhealthawareness #themindfulblonde #mindfuleeeeeats

Better Sleep

Try to go to sleep and wake up at approximately the same time every day whenever you can. A proper sleeping routine will set you up for a happy and productive day and provide you with enough energy for everything you need to do.

If one of your New Year’s resolutions was to improve your overall health and wellbeing, we can help you with that. It’s actually not that difficult! Here are some tips to help you out.

Start Moving

Exercise is one of the best things you can do for yourself, so it’s time to get moving. Even 30 minutes of activity per day is enough to improve your mood, mental alertness, and reduce stress and anxiety. You can give yoga a try, and it’s especially beneficial to do it in the morning.

Socialize

If you’ve been spending more time on social media than actually hanging out with friends and family, it’s time to change that. An actual human contact is essential for staying healthy and in good mood.

https://www.instagram.com/p/B7VzwwahjrU/

Sleep

We don’t have to tell you why sleep is so important. We all know this, and yet, so many of us have a messed up sleeping schedule. Getting your 7-9 hours of interrupted sleep every night is a necessary base for living life to the max.

Drink Tea

Explore the world of tea by trying out some new kinds. Whether your “cup of tea” is black, green, herbal, or fruit tea, it can do wonders for your health and wellbeing.
