]]>The line between work life and private life has never been this blurred. We spend most of our days staring into some kind of screen, and so much screen time is not good for our physical or mental health. Here’s how to have a healthier relationship with social media and the devices in your life.
You don’t have to quit social media completely if you don’t want to, but there’s a difference between allowing yourself 20 minutes of allotted time once or twice per day and spending half the day on your phone.
If you want to check Instagram stories as you’re having your morning coffee, that’s okay, and so is opening up an app to find particular information you’ve seen before. However, it’s important not to turn these short sessions into hours of mindless scrolling.
If you’re feeling down, perhaps another hour spent with your phone in the bed isn’t the best course of action. Consider going for a walk or making yourself a nice meal instead and you’ll instantly feel motivated for the rest of the day.

]]>People look perfect on social media and that’s because they use filters or position themselves in flattering angles. Also, the expensive clothes they have are often knockoffs or they’re returned to the store after the photo is posted.
Sometimes it’s important to just live in the moment instead of trying to capture every aspect of your daily life. Really experience your life instead of trying to show others it.
When you look at posts for a long time, the IG algorithm recognizes you’re looking at them for a long time, so you’ll get more of those posts in the future. Do yourself a favor and unfollow accounts that make you feel bad about yourself and think about unfollowing celebrities.

]]>Now may be the perfect time to hop on the TikTok train if you’ve been resisting it so far. Why? This year hasn’t been easy for anyone. The pandemic, the election stress, and many other crises hit us hard so it’s natural to look for new ways to relax and get our minds out of the real world. Scrolling through TikTok may seem pointless at first, but it’s much better for your mental health than doomscrolling. We’re not saying that you need more screen time in your life, but if you’re going to spend time scrolling through your phone, it’s better to make it something relaxing than stressful.
You may have already heard people talking about how TikTok algorithm is amazing in learning your interest. It will quickly catch what you like and what you don’t like so you can expect to see more relevant content in a few days or weeks, and it’s virtually impossible to stop once you get to this point. Whether you’re into viral dances, art or DIY videos, or insightful Gen Z content, TikTok has it all.

]]>On February 20, Bourbon, a Japanese snack company, announced that their “Mayonnaise Sheets” will hit the shelves on March 2. This shocking news sparked mixed reactions all over social media.
Some people are still on the fence about this idea. “Japan has sliced mayonnaise. I am both grossed out and intrigued,” wrote a Twitter user.
Others are just flat-out disgusted, adding hashtags such as #nothankyou and #pass to their posts about the product.
Despite the controversy, some readers can’t wait to test out the slices. A twitter user asked, “Can I do a Kickstarter just to get me as much of this as I can?”
A few years ago, the same company introduced similar sheets of chocolate ganache, a more reasonable condiment. Although that product didn’t exactly win the hearts of the Japanese people, they hope the mayonnaise sheets will be more successful as a way to introduce consumers to “simple cooking.” The company will release two types of mayo slices: tuna mayonnaise and mayonnaise with mentaiko – a type of spicy fish egg.

]]>The key to happiness often lies in helping others. Do some good and help your family, friends, or the less fortunate and you’ll feel great knowing that you did something that really matters.
Instagram has a wonderful option that lets you mute people and accounts you need a break from without unfollowing them and jeopardizing your relationship with them. When mute is not enough, you can unfollow and block — you’re allowed to.
We know it doesn’t sound revolutionary, but it’s amazing how much a simple walk can help when you need to clear your mind and make yourself a priority.

Travel envy won’t be bothering you anymore if you decide to change your outlook. Instead of experiencing jealousy every time travel bloggers share a new pic, draw inspiration from their adventures.

]]>People who take a few seconds to post a comment below their Instagram friends’ pics are known as social uplifters. A sweet reply shows people that you genuinely care about them and they appreciate it more than you think. Also, if you’re trying to establish your online presence, this is the most authentic way to engage with people on social media.
In just five to ten seconds, you can make someone’s day and increase your reputation on Instagram by simply leaving an encouraging comment even though the post isn’t requiring you to do so (in order to enter a giveaway or something).

Most people are following countless celebrities and influencers on Instagram, but this habit might end up doing you more harm than good. If you find yourself feeling envious of their lifestyle and bitter you don’t have it as good, you should do some soul searching – after pushing the unfollow button.
Life would be so much easier if we could simply unfollow all the annoying people, but that’s not possible every time. If you want to stay on good term with your work friends or family members who are posting stuff you don’t care about, you can remove them from your feed by using the mute option.

]]>Have you ever picked up your phone just to check out a single notification and ended up scrolling through your Instagram for the next 30 minutes?
We’ve all been there, and turning off the notifications that are not crucial is a good way to stop this bad habit.
We’re not suggesting you should leave your phone at home every time you go somewhere, but it doesn’t necessarily have to occupy every space you’re in. Leave it behind when you’re going to the bathroom and your screen time will probably be cut in half.
If you can’t imagine deleting some of your favorite apps, at least limit the usage. Set the alarm or install some software that will prevent you from looking at distracting apps after a certain period of time, such as Freedom or Self-Control.
