Everyone knows that although the sun is lovely and a nice welcome from the cold winter, it can also wreak havoc on your skin and be potentially dangerous. Sunscreen can only go so far, and there are so many natural ways to protect your skin. If you are serious about keeping yourself healthy and beautiful, follow these tips and keep that youthful glow.

Eating Right

There are actually many types of foods that provide UV protection, such as foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids, like salmon and sardines. You should also eat fruits and vegetables that are naturally orange and red because they contain beta-carotene as well as lycopene which are both skin protectants. Find them in foods like tomatoes, oranges,  peppers, and carrots.

Oils

Consuming different oils like avocado, coconut, olive, and sesame can reduce your chance of skin damage because it makes it more resistant to the sun. You can also put olive or coconut oil directly onto your skin to block about 20% of UV rays.
