Celebrities Can’t Get Enough of Tom Ford’s Breastplates

We’ve been seeing a lot of our favorite celebrities rocking an unusual, fashion-forward statement piece over the past few weeks – breastplates. Breastplates or breast armor are exactly what they sound like, the purpose is to protect your breasts. Although they were first shown at Tom Ford’s Fall 2020 show, we’re just now taking notice of them after three stars have been seen in them. They may look like just a sheet of metal, but if you want to get a hold of your very own breastplate, be prepared to spend $15,000!

Gwenyth Paltrow

Paltrow made her way onto the February 2020 cover of Harper’s Bazaar in this high neck metallic purple design. We can’t get over how shiny and eyecatching the breastplate is. She isn’t fazed that other celebrities are catching onto the trend as she commented on Zendaya’s post in the outfit, “Thank God I can say I have something in common with Zendaya.”

Zoe Kravitz

The next star brave enough to rock the trend was Big Little Lies’ Zoe Kravitz. Like Paltrow, Kravitz wore the Tom Ford breastplate for her spread in Elle. The black low-cut breastplate looks a bit less like armor and more like a bralette top.

Zendaya

The Euphoria star was the most recent celebrity to wear the trend; she hit the red carpet of the 2020 Critics’ Choice Awards in this hot pink breastplate with a matchy floor-length pink skirt. Zendaya perfectly juxtaposed the hard element of the breastplate with the softness of the flowy skirt.
