It’s every man’s greatest fear: losing all the glorious hair you once had and succumbing to the world of baldness. We know that an almost 85% of men will experience hair loss by the time they hit 50, but the million dollar question is why?

Iron deficiency

Marc Glashofer is a certified dermatologist that specializes in hair loss, and he’s identified a few common causes of hair loss that perhaps, if addressed, could slow the burn.

“When I’m seeing a patient for the first time, one of the first things I want to rule out is an iron deficiency,” says Glashofer. It turns out that iron deficiencies and other diet-induced issues can be a major factor in hair loss.

How a person manages their stress is an equally important factor. Glashofer says that a big stressor like loss of a job, illness, surgery, etc. “can cause a shift in the body’s hair production cycle, which leads to extra shedding.”

Time to start eating right and meditating more!

Hair Loss Might Be A Side Effect

It’s well-known that medication often comes with unwanted side effects, and Glashofer has seen a variety of medications cause increased hair loss.

“I always ask patients how long they’ve been taking their medication, and how recently their hair loss began,” shared Glashofer.

This helps him to determine if it might be the meds causing the loss, and it might be something to ask your doctor about if you suspect your medication might be the culprit.

Those Evil Genes

Your genetic code determines the coarseness of your hair, the colors, and whether it’ll curl or stay straight. It also determines whether you’ll lose it or not and when. Roughly 50 million people suffer from androgenetic alopecia, or male-pattern baldness as it’s commonly known. The most distinctive sign is a receding hairline that takes an “M” shape on your scalp, and the condition is closely linked to testosterone levels.

“This is the most common cause of hair loss in men and due mainly to genetics,” says Glashofer. “Basically, in some men, the hair follicles are more sensitive to testosterone, which leads to thinning and balding.”

We all get stressed, period. But did you know that long-term, chronic stress can actually have similar effects on our bodies as a junk food diet?

And this have a bigger effect on women. It’s no secret that living on high-fat burgers and fries is super bad for us – particularly our stomachs.

The micro bacteria in your stomach will change as a response to such unhealthy amounts of fat. This typically results in a much higher risk of developing conditions like heart disease and diabetes.

So what’s stress got to do with it?

Recent biological research has shown that, when exposed to stress over a long period of time, there were shocking gender differences. Females were shown to suffer unhealthy micro bacterial changes in their stomachs as a result of this stress – resembling the exact same changes that occur when eating an extremely high-fat diet.

And the weirdest part? Males didn’t!

The Study

This particular example of pioneering research was conducted on a large sample of mice, both males and females being exposed to the exact same levels of stressful stimuli over a period of weeks.

But, whilst this research didn’t involve humans for strong ethical reasons, this certainly doesn’t mean the results can’t be applied to us too.

It’s not unusual for long-term stress to cause stomach upset, but this research strongly suggests we need to take these extreme results into account when trying to cope with certain stresses – especially women.

What’s the Solution?

One of the best methods of reducing harmful, stress-induced stomach effects is to look for natural remedies proven to reduce the stresses themselves. Both anxiety and depression are two of the most common stresses women face, with exercise being one of the most natural and effective ways to help.

You also need a simple, solid tie. That is a tie that is one color and is, say, a burgundy or a dark green.

This means that your suit is going to be fine for any occasion from a wedding to a funeral. A cartoon tie might seem fun, but it’s embarrassing at a job interview and an epic fail at a funeral.

Find an old wire coat hanger and cut it in the bottom middle. Poke one end into a cork, add the paper towel roll, and the slide the other end into the opposite end of the cork inside the roll.

Looking to fill a large space on your wall? A pallet is a great tool to use up excessive free space for a low cost. Stain or paint the pallet to your color scheme and then select your favorite quote. Handpaint the saying onto the slats and let dry. Once completed, you can either hang the pallet or simply lean it against the wall.

More Than Meets The Eye!

Have some old books lying around that have seen better days? How about sheet music or old magazines? Use several sheets of paper, cut into strips, to create little paper roses by rolling them loosely into themselves in layers. Use fasteners to keep the roses in their shape. Arrange them in a printed or glass bowl and they make great table toppers! These can be tailored to each room by color scheme or to holidays by selecting printed paper.

Shelves aren’t just functional, they’re an opportunity to let your imagination run wild. Use reclaimed barn wood, driftwood, or whatever type of wood holds your appeal. Even The Nutrition Experts Struggle To Follow This Healthy Eating Advice. You would think that the professionals in any given field follow their own advice, but as it turns out, they sometimes find it just as difficult to follow!

When it comes to eating healthy, it’s not just the average person that struggles. Nutritional experts have admitted that they face a lot of the same challenges! They’ve shared some of the advice that they find the most difficult to follow to in their own lives.

Be Mindful Of The Food You Eat

Ilyse Schapiro is a nutritionist from New York, and she sympathizes with busy moms who struggle to think about the food they’re consuming.

“One area that I find hard to follow is mindful eating,” shared Schapiro. “As a working mom, I find myself eating on the go, while I’m standing up, in the car, on the phone, and in front of the computer screen.”

Being mindful of the food consumed helps a person to make better decisions when it comes to their diet while on the contrary, eating mindlessly can be dangerous.

“Mindless eating leaves one vulnerable to consuming extra calories and not feeling satisfied,” continued Schapiro. “It’s so important to be present and enjoy your food.”

Eat Those Greens

Maria Pagano is a nutritional coach, and she can relate to a lot of people’s biggest challenge when it comes to eating. “I would have to say that getting enough vegetables would be my weakest link,” said Pagano candidly.

She says that vegetables are often the first thing to go when a person’s life gets busier. How many veggies does she recommend in a day?

“I like to shoot for 6 to 9 cups, but I usually fall around the 5-cup range when life gets busy—and unfortunately that can happen often.”

Slow Down

Research has clearly demonstrated that when people eat slower, they eat less. Not only do we consume less food and consequently, calories, we also feel happier, more satisfied, and calmer. Slower eating results in better digestion, so why do people eat so rapidly? A busy schedule is a common culprit, and John Berardi of Precision Nutrition falls prey to it from time-to-time.

“When I feel myself speeding up, I remind myself to pay attention—to put my fork down between bites, have a sip of water, and attend to the process of feeding and caring for my body,” advised Berardi.

What lesson is there to be had from all these comments? Don’t feel so bad – even the experts struggle with following nutritional advice all the time, but the important thing is to keep trying!

Veggie chips are the go-to snack these days. Schools provide them as a healthier snack choice for students, families stock up on them, and of course, adults love them too. But like any healthier food option, keeping your pantry supplied starts to add up. So, why not make your chips at home? You can prepare large batches, you’ll save money, and it’s fun and easy!

Most root vegetables can be turned into chips in your very own kitchen!

Warning: This is going to get addictive.

Step One: Choose Your Veggies. Clean And Slice Them.

Before we get into the cooking, here’s a list of the best root vegetables to turn into chips that you can find at any store: potatoes, carrots, turnips, rutabaga and celeriac.

Clear your entire counter. You’ll need lots of room! Then, get out your cutting board and pull out a knife sharp enough to cut thin pieces off your veggies. If you have a mandoline slicer, this works best!

Wash the veggies you’ve chosen to turn into chips and get to cutting.

Step Two: Dry And Season Your Veggies

After your veggies have been washed and cut, you’ll have to make sure they’re extremely dry before roasting them. Pat all the water off of them and let them air dry for a bit.

After they’re dry, pour a couple tablespoons of olive oil into a bowl and toss your chips in the oil. Then, season them with a bit of salt.

Step Three: Roast Or Fry Your Chips

Line up your veggies chips on a baking sheet and roast them in the oven at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes, but keep a close watch on your chips. It might not take as long. Pull them out when they’re nice and crispy.

Another option is to fry your chips in oil. Parsnips and carrots are best fried instead of baked in the oven.

Whichever way you choose to cook them, when your chips are done, let them cool off for about a half hour. Salt them a bit more and you’re all finished!

Get ready to start that second batch while munching on your first. They’re amazing!

What would your dream job look like? For Sorelle Amore, it was to travel the world and get paid for it.

Amore’s dream came true, and she’s the envy of thousands of people as she travels from one exotic destination to another, stays in 5-star accommodations, and is actually paid very well for it.

The Job Of A Lifetime

It all started when Amore confided in her brother that she really wanted to do something in travel for work, and as if on cue, he stumbled upon an ad for the “Best Job On The Planet” by ThirdHome.

The job involved traveling to 12 destinations, staying in luxurious accommodations, and documenting the journey. All expenses were paid and it came with a $40,000 paycheck.

“It matched so perfectly to my goals, I was sure it was going to be me,” shares Amore. “I made sure I was truly vulnerable and honest in my video entries, pouring my heart into every single one.”

It probably didn’t hurt that she already had an Instagram following of over 100,000!

How She Got So Many Followers

Amore’s fame on Instagram all began when she decided to move from Australia to Iceland in the heat of the moment. With little to do in her new environment, she decided to take pictures of beautiful landscapes along with photos of herself. People started to follow Amore and ask her all kinds of questions about Iceland, so she knew she was on the right track.

Around The World And Back Again

The “Best Job On The Planet” brought her to places like Scotland, the Bahamas, Morocco, Costa Rica and China before taking her back home to Australia.

The perks were unreal – Amore says that she got to stay in lux accommodations like a Scotland castle, 12-bedroom mansions with eight staff, and gorgeous villas, all complete with stunning views.

“I still don’t believe it’s real,” expresses Amore. “I just experienced what some people will never experience in their lifetime and I did it in three months.”

Although the job is over now, Amore has decided to continue being a travel influencer while teaching others how to do it themselves.

“I discovered this is a really great way to live,” she summarizes. “Why would you not want to have a job like this?”

It’s every man’s greatest fear: losing all the glorious hair you once had and succumbing to the world of baldness. We know that an almost 85% of men will experience hair loss by the time they hit 50, but the million dollar question is why?

Iron deficiency

Marc Glashofer is a certified dermatologist that specializes in hair loss, and he’s identified a few common causes of hair loss that perhaps, if addressed, could slow the burn.

“When I’m seeing a patient for the first time, one of the first things I want to rule out is an iron deficiency,” says Glashofer. It turns out that iron deficiencies and other diet-induced issues can be a major factor in hair loss.

How a person manages their stress is an equally important factor. Glashofer says that a big stressor like loss of a job, illness, surgery, etc. “can cause a shift in the body’s hair production cycle, which leads to extra shedding.”

Hair Loss Might Be A Side Effect

It’s well-known that medication often comes with unwanted side effects, and Glashofer has seen a variety of medications cause increased hair loss.

“I always ask patients how long they’ve been taking their medication, and how recently their hair loss began,” shared Glashofer.

This helps him to determine if it might be the meds causing the loss, and it might be something to ask your doctor about if you suspect your medication might be the culprit.

Those Evil Genes

Your genetic code determines the coarseness of your hair, the colors, and whether it’ll curl or stay straight. It also determines whether you’ll lose it or not and when. Roughly 50 million people suffer from androgenetic alopecia, or male-pattern baldness as it’s commonly known. The most distinctive sign is a receding hairline that takes an “M” shape on your scalp, and the condition is closely linked to testosterone levels.

“This is the most common cause of hair loss in men and due mainly to genetics,” says Glashofer. “Basically, in some men, the hair follicles are more sensitive to testosterone, which leads to thinning and balding.”

We all get stressed, period. But did you know that long-term, chronic stress can actually have similar effects on our bodies as a junk food diet?

For a quick and snazzy piece of table decor, grab a bundle of sticks from the local craft store (or outdoors, if you’re looking for an uneven look). These can be of any size. Dip them in the paint color of your choice, or several if you want to get fancy, and glue them together at the ends. Once dry, affix the structure to a flat base, such as cardboard or a wooden circle.

Green It Up A Bit!

Plants make any home feel a little cozier and bring a little of the outside in. Instead of using any old plant shelf, make a cube by screwing together four pieces of wood in the size of your choosing. Find an old wire coat hanger and cut it in the bottom middle. Poke one end into a cork, add the paper towel roll, and the slide the other end into the opposite end of the cork inside the roll.

Say It With Wood!

Looking to fill a large space on your wall? A pallet is a great tool to use up excessive free space for a low cost. Stain or paint the pallet to your color scheme and then select your favorite quote. Handpaint the saying onto the slats and let dry. Once completed, you can either hang the pallet or simply lean it against the wall.

More Than Meets The Eye!

Have some old books lying around that have seen better days? How about sheet music or old magazines? Use several sheets of paper, cut into strips, to create little paper roses by rolling them loosely into themselves in layers. Use fasteners to keep the roses in their shape. Arrange them in a printed or glass bowl and they make great table toppers! These can be tailored to each room by color scheme or to holidays by selecting printed paper.

Shelve It!

Shelves aren’t just functional, they’re an opportunity to let your imagination run wild. Use reclaimed barn wood, driftwood, or whatever type of wood holds your appeal. By using a natural wood, instead of store-bought, processed wood, you will have a unique, eclectic look that you won’t find in any store near you.

Even The Nutrition Experts Struggle To Follow This Healthy Eating Advice. You would think that the professionals in any given field follow their own advice, but as it turns out, they sometimes find it just as difficult to follow!

When it comes to eating healthy, it’s not just the average person that struggles. Nutritional experts have admitted that they face a lot of the same challenges! They’ve shared some of the advice that they find the most difficult to follow to in their own lives.

Be Mindful Of The Food You Eat

Ilyse Schapiro is a nutritionist from New York, and she sympathizes with busy moms who struggle to think about the food they’re consuming.

“One area that I find hard to follow is mindful eating,” shared Schapiro. “As a working mom, I find myself eating on the go, while I’m standing up, in the car, on the phone, and in front of the computer screen.”

Being mindful of the food consumed helps a person to make better decisions when it comes to their diet while on the contrary, eating mindlessly can be dangerous.

“Mindless eating leaves one vulnerable to consuming extra calories and not feeling satisfied,” continued Schapiro. “It’s so important to be present and enjoy your food.”

Eat Those Greens

Maria Pagano is a nutritional coach, and she can relate to a lot of people’s biggest challenge when it comes to eating. “I would have to say that getting enough vegetables would be my weakest link,” said Pagano candidly.

She says that vegetables are often the first thing to go when a person’s life gets busier. How many veggies does she recommend in a day?

“I like to shoot for 6 to 9 cups, but I usually fall around the 5-cup range when life gets busy—and unfortunately that can happen often.”

Slow Down

Research has clearly demonstrated that when people eat slower, they eat less. Not only do we consume less food and consequently, calories, we also feel happier, more satisfied, and calmer. Slower eating results in better digestion, so why do people eat so rapidly? A busy schedule is a common culprit, and John Berardi of Precision Nutrition falls prey to it from time-to-time.

“When I feel myself speeding up, I remind myself to pay attention—to put my fork down between bites, have a sip of water, and attend to the process of feeding and caring for my body,” advised Berardi.

What lesson is there to be had from all these comments? Don’t feel so bad – even the experts struggle with following nutritional advice all the time, but the important thing is to keep trying!

Veggie chips are the go-to snack these days. Schools provide them as a healthier snack choice for students, families stock up on them, and of course, adults love them too. But like any healthier food option, keeping your pantry supplied starts to add up. So, why not make your chips at home? You can prepare large batches, you’ll save money, and it’s fun and easy!

Most root vegetables can be turned into chips in your very own kitchen!

Warning: This is going to get addictive.

Step One: Choose Your Veggies. Clean And Slice Them.

Before we get into the cooking, here’s a list of the best root vegetables to turn into chips that you can find at any store: potatoes, carrots, turnips, rutabaga and celeriac.

Clear your entire counter. You’ll need lots of room! Then, get out your cutting board and pull out a knife sharp enough to cut thin pieces off your veggies. If you have a mandoline slicer, this works best!

Wash the veggies you’ve chosen to turn into chips and get to cutting.

Step Two: Dry And Season Your Veggies

After your veggies have been washed and cut, you’ll have to make sure they’re extremely dry before roasting them. Pat all the water off of them and let them air dry for a bit.

After they’re dry, pour a couple tablespoons of olive oil into a bowl and toss your chips in the oil. Then, season them with a bit of salt.

Step Three: Roast Or Fry Your Chips

Line up your veggies chips on a baking sheet and roast them in the oven at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes, but keep a close watch on your chips. It might not take as long. Pull them out when they’re nice and crispy.

Another option is to fry your chips in oil. Parsnips and carrots are best fried instead of baked in the oven.

Whichever way you choose to cook them, when your chips are done, let them cool off for about a half hour. Salt them a bit more and you’re all finished!

Get ready to start that second batch while munching on your first. They’re amazing!

What would your dream job look like? For Sorelle Amore, it was to travel the world and get paid for it.

Amore’s dream came true, and she’s the envy of thousands of people as she travels from one exotic destination to another, stays in 5-star accommodations, and is actually paid very well for it.

The Job Of A Lifetime

It all started when Amore confided in her brother that she really wanted to do something in travel for work, and as if on cue, he stumbled upon an ad for the “Best Job On The Planet” by ThirdHome.

The job involved traveling to 12 destinations, staying in luxurious accommodations, and documenting the journey. All expenses were paid and it came with a $40,000 paycheck.

“It matched so perfectly to my goals, I was sure it was going to be me,” shares Amore. “I made sure I was truly vulnerable and honest in my video entries, pouring my heart into every single one.”

It probably didn’t hurt that she already had an Instagram following of over 100,000!

How She Got So Many Followers

Amore’s fame on Instagram all began when she decided to move from Australia to Iceland in the heat of the moment. With little to do in her new environment, she decided to take pictures of beautiful landscapes along with photos of herself. People started to follow Amore and ask her all kinds of questions about Iceland, so she knew she was on the right track.

Around The World And Back Again

The “Best Job On The Planet” brought her to places like Scotland, the Bahamas, Morocco, Costa Rica and China before taking her back home to Australia.

The perks were unreal – Amore says that she got to stay in lux accommodations like a Scotland castle, 12-bedroom mansions with eight staff, and gorgeous villas, all complete with stunning views.

“I still don’t believe it’s real,” expresses Amore. “I just experienced what some people will never experience in their lifetime and I did it in three months.”

Although the job is over now, Amore has decided to continue being a travel influencer while teaching others how to do it themselves.

“I discovered this is a really great way to live,” she summarizes. “Why would you not want to have a job like this?”
