In a scramble to finish a makeup look, the worst thing would be to realize that you’re out of eyeliner. Never fear—you probably have a few things laying around your house that serve as great alternatives to eyeliner! Here are four items to help you in a pinch!
Mascara
Even if you don’t have eyeliner, you probably have mascara! It turns out that this product is great for more than just making your eyelashes pop! You can use an angled brush to get product from the mascara wand and use it to create perfect little wings. Or you can create a smokey look by smudging the mascara in an intentionally messy way.
Acrylic Paints
This might come as a surprise, but paint is actually a completely acceptable alternative to eyeliner. Because acrylics are non-toxic and become the same consistency as liquid eyeliner with just a little bit of water, you can create any look easily in just about any color imaginable! They are applied easily with a small brush and come off easily as well!
Lip Liner
Deep reds and bright pinks actually are great colors to make your eyes pop. And lip liners come in the same pencil form as some eyeliners, making it easy to use these to create your best eye makeup look. You could even match them with your lipstick!
Colored Pencils
In keeping with the art supply theme, colored pencils are another good option to use as eyeliner, as long as they’re non-toxic. Soak the pencils in hot water for about five minutes, until the pigment easily glides on skin, and they’re ready to go on your eyes!
