It’s quite apparent in this day and age that mental health is just as important as physical health. With that said, since our mind is a part of our physical body, it stands to reason that if our body feels good, our mind will feel better too. This may not always be the case, but there are many who swear by this ideology, which is why food scientists have come out and declared that some foods can actually improve our moods. On that note, here are three foods that are supposed to make you feel better.

Dark Chocolate

According to a study done by the American Chemical Society, dark chocolate can ease emotional stress, among other things. Nutritionist Sonya Angelone claimed that since dark chocolate raises our endorphin levels, it can actually boost our mood.

Mushrooms

Mushrooms have a lot of vitamin D, which is good because that’s the same vitamin known for having anti-depressant qualities. To give you some perspective, vitamin D is the same vitamin we get from the sun. So eating mushrooms is akin to shining a sunny ray on our day!

Salmon

Due to its large quantities of omega 3 fatty acids, salmon is believed to be a huge mood-booster. In fact, scientists have even claimed that omega 3 can make our skin and hair shine brighter. In other words, not only can it make you feel better, but it can also make you “look happier”.
