Over time, wardrobes accumulate new items and begin to clutter. If you find yourself struggling to find an evening shirt because the dress collection you bought in Ibiza is blocking your view, consider these three tips to declutter your wardrobe.

Monitor What Clothes You Wear

Be honest with yourself about what clothes you actually wear and how often you wear them. One way you can do this is to make sure all your hangers are facing the same way and then flip the hanger every time you wear the item on it. In a few weeks, monitor which hangers have not been flipped. These are items that aren’t getting much use.

Create a Vacation Box

Instead of storing your vacation clothes with your work clothes, store them in a separate box. It’s fine to keep the tie-dye t-shirts you bought at Coachella but if you hardly ever wear them, store them in a special box for festival/vacation season.

Store Clothes For Special Occasions Separately

You probably have a couple of dresses/shirts that you have only worn once but anticipate you will need again in the future. Don’t store these with your everyday clothes, store them separately so you can access them only when you need them.
