The way you pack your suitcase can make or break your trip. This rule applies during every season, including summer, and here are a few common packing mistakes you should avoid if you want to make sure that your summer vacation goes smoothly.

Weather Forecast

Most people only pack light clothes for the summer, but that’s rarely enough. Check the weather forecast beforehand because you might have to pack some warmer clothes in case the weather changes.

Enormous Suitcase

There’s no need to bring out your biggest suitcase for the summer vacation. The clothes you wear during the warmer seasons are so light that you can easily pack them inside a carry-on and wash them on the go.

Packing Swimwear

Swimwear is pretty much the only piece of clothing you can go overboard with while packing because it barely takes up any space. Pack two or more bathing suits, especially if you’re going to hit the beach multiple times a day because they need some time to dry out.

Too Many Shoes

If there’s one thing you shouldn’t go overboard with when packing for any kind of trip, it’s shoes. They take too much space, so wear your bulkiest pair during your travels and only pack one or two pairs of sandals and slippers that will easily fit into your outfits.
