What is Tantouring? And How to do it

Tantouring is a new craze to get a ‘sculpted’ effect on your face.

Instead of using bronzer or highlighter, trendsetters are semi-permanently contouring their face with fake tan. Tan sculpting is a technique that has been used by many celebrities but now people are using the technique to help create the ‘killer cheekbone’ look.

Here is a step by step guide so that you can add tantouring to your beauty routine.

Prep prep prep

Before you apply the tan, exfoliate. If you want an even finish, you need to make your skin as smooth as possible. After exfoliation, apply moisturizer.

Base tan

Before you get to the tantouring, apply an all-over face tan to your face an neck. Keep it a shade lighter than your contouring colour.

Fake-tan mousse

Use fake-tan mousse in a darker shade for the contouring. Use a brush to sweep under your cheekbone as you would with makeup. If you want to shape your nose, use a smaller brush. If you’re not used to applying bronzer or highlighter, definitely practice first before you go all in with the fake tan!

Wait

Leave the mousse for 1-3 hours, depending on how prominent you want your contour.

Good luck!
