Urban legends can pop up everywhere even in fast food chains. Many find it suspicious that you can order some food and have it ready within a couple of minutes. So when hearing myths about these fast foods, most people are inclined to believe them. Here are some myths about the most well-known fast foods out there:

The meat from Taco Bell isn’t really meat

Of course, this isn’t really true. Although the beef contains only 88% beef, the other 12% comprises of ingredients like torula yeast and trehalose. These ingredients are present for maintaining the texture of the beef, for balancing flavor, and they’re totally safe.

Chickens used by KFC are genetically-modified

The source of KFC’s chickens is another popular myth. However, KFC keeps ensuring the customers that they only use chickens which are normal, healthy, and definitely not genetically-engineered.

McDonald’s beef contains lips, eyeballs, and more

This is another outrageous myth because it’s actually more costly to use these parts, particularly eyeballs in the beef instead of just the meat. Also, if they do use such parts, they need to disclose this information too.

Wendy’s doesn’t use beef in their chili

It seems like most myths focus on the meat in the fast food products. Although it’s easy to hide the beef in the chili, the Chief Executive Director of the fast food chain ensures the public that there’s no truth to this myth either.
