Washing your face seems like such a simple task, but in reality, there are a couple of things that you might be doing that is causing more damage than good. Here is what you should avoid.

Don’t wash too much

When you wash your face too often, it can age your skin. Once or twice a day is all you need. After a good workout is also okay.

Soap is not your friend

Your face is rather sensitive and if you use harsh soaps, it strips your skin of natural oils and can cause irritation. Rather go for non-soap cleansers.

Exfoliation balance

Don’t do it too often as this can irritate the skin. Rather stick to once or twice a week and do it at night when your skin is rejuvenating.

If you sleep with makeup on

You are bound to need more of it to look younger. It can ruin your complexion and block your pores for weeks.

Cold water is better

Since it doesn’t dry out your skin. In wintertime, try and wash in the sink to avoid exposing your skin to hot temperatures. This just dries your skin even faster in an already dry season.
