Are you looking for a delicious dessert that’s super easy to make? Well, look no further than a fruit crisp. You can use whatever fruit you have on hand and they come together in three easy steps. Pair this fruit crisp with whipped cream or ice cream for a decadent dessert that’s perfect all year long. Here’s your step-by-step guide for how to make a fruit crisp.

Step 1: Make the Topping

A yummy topping has a ratio of 3:2:1:1 or 3 parts rolled oats to 2 parts flour to 1 part sugar to 1 part liquid fat (oil or butter). When you’ve figured out the ratio of ingredients, mix everything and spread it out on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Put the mix in the freezer for about an hour.

Step 2: Prepare the Fruit

How much fruit you’ll need depends on the size of your baking dish. A large one will use 9 cups of fruit, a medium 6 cups, and a small 1 cup. For each cup of fruit you use, you’ll need to add 1 teaspoon of corn starch or tapioca flour, 1/2 teaspoon of lemon juice, and between 1 and 1 1/2 teaspoons of sugar.

Step 3: Assemble and Bake

Spray or butter your baking dish and preheat the oven to 350 F. Fill the dish with the fruit mix and then the topping. For a small or medium baking dish, let the crisp bake for between 15-20 minutes and for a large one, up to 35-40 minutes. The crisp is ready to be taken out of the oven when the fruit juices are bubbling and the crispy is lightly browned.
