This Artist is Finding Inspiration in Our Favorite Retro Items

Cassette tapes, CDs, and flip phones became a thing of the past many years ago, but that doesn’t mean they’re completely forgotten. Mary of Art Sun Flower sees them as her main source of inspiration and transforms them into beautiful works of art.

Mary finds inspiration in everyday objects and enjoys decorating them with paint but there’s one type of item she’s constantly coming back to. Old-fashioned media lives on in her art since she enjoys breathing in a new life into CDs, vinyl records, and cassettes.

This artist enjoys decorating everyday objects with flowers and skyline, but these aren’t the only motifs she loves. She also seems to be a fan of Vincent Van Gogh and Claude Monet, and some of her creations feature tiny replicas of their masterpieces.

Mary’s Instagram page @artsunflower__ is filled with creative ideas on how to decorate these items on your own, and you should definitely give them a try. We all have a couple of old CDs and cassettes that we’re never listening to, so why not transform them into tiny works of art?
