Most of us like to follow fashion trends and to buy things that are in style at the moment, but we often overlook smaller brands and non-mainstream designers. Some of them, like KrukruStudio, are doing an impressive job creating unique and intricate products for us.
KrukruStudio is a Moscow-based brand that created a series of hand-crafted leather backpacks called Wings backpacks. Just like the name suggests, these unique leather backpacks are shaped like wings and they come in a range of colors, from black white and pink to metallic and rainbow gradient.
“When we finally got to work on the Wings backpack we first tried several ways to simplify the design and make it more ‘production-friendly,’” Lyuba and Max from KrukruStudio explained to My Modern Met. “It didn’t quite work, so we had to take our usual way of making everything complicated and detailed to make the backpack look stunning.”
To create these intricate wings and make them look as real as possible, they had to stitch almost 200 hand-cut feathers and make these layers that would look like real wings in the end. The result is breathtaking and we believe that many of you would like to own a pair of these wings on your back.
