These Gorgeous New Vans are Inspired by Frida Kahlo’s Artwork

Fans of Vans shoes are already used to hearing great news about the brand’s new collections and collaborations, but this time they truly have something amazing to look forward to. Vans just released another gorgeous shoe collection featuring the most iconic artworks of the famous painter Frida Kahlo.

Three new Vans models are inspired by the life of this Mexican artist and her colorful paintings. The shoes showcase three Kahlo’s paintings – “Self-Portrait with Thorn Necklace and Hummingbird,” a self-portrait from 1939 called “Las Dos Fridas,” and “Viva la Vida, Watermelons”, which is her last known painting from 1954.

Kahlo is known for her unique style and bold, vibrant colors, as well as her painful and passionate life. The artist became a pop culture icon and Vans decided to honor her life by bringing “a sampling of the artist’s paintings to life on classic Vans silhouettes”.

This special Frida Kahlo collection was dropped on June 29 and is available in selected stores across the United States.
