These Films Were Nominated In the Costume Design Category at the 2020 Oscars

Margot Robbie in "Once Upon a Time ...in Hollywood"

The Oscar nominations for 2020 have been announced and with that, the most immaculately curated costumes of the past year have been selected. Here are the films that are competing to take home the most prestigious award in film costume design.

Joker

In 2019’s Joker, the infamous supervillain is given a drastic makeover. Jerad Leto’s neon green hair and gold teeth have replaced with old-school clown face paint and a snazzy suit taken straight out of the 90s. Joker has received aa Academy Award nominations in total.

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood

Tarantino’s latest movie sees Bradd Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio co-starring in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. Everything about the movie was flawless, and it wouldn’t have been the same without the brilliant costumes.

Little Women

The period drama Little Women saw the likes of Emma Watson and Florence Pugh dressed in 90th-century gowns. The attention to detail in the costumes is worthy of an Oscar nomination. And it got one.

Jojo Rabbit

Dressed in World War II attire, the fabulous cast of Jojo Rabbit was able to bring the charming tale of childhood to life.

The Irishman

Another WWII movie only this time, the cast is dressed in suave suits and ties. Again, the attention to detail in the costume is what helps make the film so wonderfully immersive.
