The Golden Globes 2020 kicked off last weekend (January 5). The event is traditionally the first major red carpet event of the year and it gives us an idea of the award ceremony trends that will follow. Here are the trends we picked up on.
Pretty in Pink
The color of the Golden Globes this year was pink. We particular loved Isla Fisher’s fuchsia dress which she matched with a hot pink lip.
If you can take a moment to flick past Joey King’s stunning dress and take a look at her makeup, you’ll see that she has embraced a shimmery, shiny lid. In 2020, the glitter is being traded in for a more concentrated shiny look.
The 20s have come around again and there is no better time to embrace a fashion throwback to the 1920s era of fashion. Jane Levy opted for tight pin curls, a look we expect to be seeing more of at the award ceremonies still to come.
Why should girls get to have all the fun? In 2019, we saw a rise in makeup for men. In 2020, we will be seeing even more of this. Take Ansel Elgort’s gorgeous shimmery eyes, for example.
Girls in Suits
In 2019, we saw a lot of female stars trade in an evening dress for a swanky and elegant suit. Fortunately, the trend is staying strong in 2020. Phoebe Waller-Bridge is proof.
