With coronavirus in full swing and so much uncertainty surrounding it, more are more people are being quarantined or self-isolating. The CDC has advised people to create a household plan in case there’s an outbreak in their community. This includes making sure your house is stocked with basic essentials like food, medicine, and cleaning supplies. We recommend having enough nutritious food in your house to last you up to two weeks and here’s what you should be getting.

Canned Goods

Most people know that canned goods are worth stocking up on as they can last decades as long as they’re kept in moderate temperatures. Canned fruits and vegetables are a good way to make sure you’re getting your vitamins and minerals. Other canned goods that are good to stock up on include beans, ravioli, fish, soups, and chillis.

Pantry Staples

Make sure you restock your cabinets with pasta, nuts, nut butters, applesauce, quinoa, dried fruits, and seeds. Additionally, if you have a baby or pet, don’t forget to stock up on their food.

Frozen Foods

Like canned food, frozen fruits and vegetables are a good alternative to fresh ones, but they don’t last as long as canned ones. Also, get some ready-made meals like burritos or pizzas, as they’re easy when you’re in a pinch. Meats and poultry are good to have as they can be used in many different dishes.
