The Art of Selfie: The Museum of Selfies, LA

You think there’s nothing artsy about selfies, right? Well, you may be surprised to learn that The Museum of Selfies has opened in Los Angeles last month to honor the art form that’s apparently older than ice cream.

The Museum of Selfies claims that this culture is 40,000 years old. The museum offers an educational and fun approach to understanding the history of selfies through interactive installations. Starting from the cave walls paintings, the museum emphasizes the key moments of human history and questions the intention and the idea of the selfie – what does it mean for the artist and his audience.

The goal of the LA museum is to surprise its visitors and make them laugh. It enables people to become a part of art instead of just watching it.
