How to survive summer like a pro

When it’s steaming hot we can sometimes feel like a wrung-out rag. But there’s no need to. Follow these tips on how to survive summer like a pro.

1. Remove sweat stains

Mix equal amounts of lemon juice and water, and place in a spray bottle. Spray onto the underarm area of your white T-shirt or blouse until soaking. Rub the fabric gentle and the stain should start to disappear.

You could add some salt so that you’re scrubbing the stained area. Allow the lemon juice to work for about an hour, and then wash as normal. Otherwise, dissolve 5 aspirin tablets in a sinkful of water. Allow your white shirts to soak for at least 10 hours, and then launder as usual.

2. Use antiperspirant on your face

If you are prone to oiliness during hot weather, dab a little antiperspirant onto your T-zone to stop shine in its tracks.

3. Deodorize your shoes

When it’s hot, our feet perspire, and if we’re wearing breathable shoe fabric, they will absorb the moisture. This allows bacteria to breed, causing odor. To freshen your shoes and kill the bacteria, place your shoes in the freezer overnight.
