Don’t get us wrong, we love a good cup of joe as much as the next barista. But once in a while, it’s fun to mix it up and try something different. From food blogs to neighborhood cafes, these colorful steamed drinks are increasing in popularity all around the world.

Tickled Pink

This beetroot latte is a perfect caffeine-free option when you’re looking for something sweet but still healthy. Beet powder is steamed with almond milk, vanilla, and maple syrup to create a mug of pretty-in-pink deliciousness that’s totally Instagram-worthy.

Lean, Green, Caffeinated Machine

Going Green is easy with this matcha latte. Matcha is a powdered form of green tea and a great alternative to coffee if you’re looking for a pick-me-up but also a bit sensitive to caffeine. A compound in green tea called L-theanine slows down the caffeine spike so that you’ll feel energized but without that post-coffee crash.

Blue Lagoon

Blue Magik is a powdered extract made from bluish algae, often taken as a health supplement. While large quantities can have a bit of a fishy flavor, this latte contains just enough to tint the milk blue and leave you free to add other flavors like maple and vanilla. You can even add toppings like flowers or sprinkles to create a latte fit for a mermaid (no scales required).
