The hair straightener is probably the most useful beauty tool a woman can own but unfortunately, every beauty product has an expiration date—and our straighteners have them too. If you notice any of these signs, you should know it’s time to replace your hair straightener.
The easiest way to tell that your straightener has reached its expiration date is by faulty ceramic plates. If the plates are in any way damaged, scratched, or lifted, you should definitely say goodbye to your beloved straightener and invest in a new one.
Another thing you shouldn’t ignore is the heat indicator light that is not working properly. If you notice that this light is flickering, there’s probably something wrong with your hair straightener and you should look into it. This is often the sign that the hair straightener is having issues controlling the heat, and you could fry your hair if you continue to use it.
Not working properly
If you notice that the hair straightener is not as effective as it used to be and you need more time to achieve any result then it’s probably time to buy a new one. Hair straighteners cannot last forever, they lose their power over time and usually need to be replaced every three years.
