Should You Roll or Fold When Packing For Your Trip?

Traveling to new destinations is super exciting, but there’s one thing we dread every vacation—packing. Between overpacking and trying to decide what’s essential to bring with us, packing is always a hassle. There are two main ways to pack—rolling or folding. Which one is more efficient?

Rolling

For the rolling method, each item is folded width-wise a few times and then rolled into a cylinder. Each piece is then stacked or organized based on the item within the suitcase.

Although it adds the step of having to roll the clothes after the items are already folded, rolling clothes results in fewer wrinkles and saving space in your suitcase. When the items are rolled they’re less likely to move around during your flight.

Folding

For the folding method, items are folded traditionally and stacked on top of each other, usually by category. Negatives of this method include that you can’t see all your items in your suitcase when they are folded and you wind up with less space.

When you fold clothes it’s easier to unpack them at your destination as all you need to do is open your suitcase and transfer your clothes to a dresser.
