It sometimes feels like there is a secret club where make-up tips are shared in whispers and new rules are written. How else do you explain cat eyes becoming doe eyes and achieving that perfect ombré pout? Well, whether there is or isn’t an official club, we’re here to let you in on some make-up secrets of our own.

Mascara

When applied to the top lashes, mascara can make quite a statement. Not everyone likes putting the product on their bottom lashes, but it is a way of opening up your eyes even more. If you fancy going this route, start at the bottom before doing the top lashes. This way, mascara won’t smudge onto your lid when you look down.

Shimmer

A little bit of glitter on the lids? We’re here for it! Shimmer shadow is one of the quickest ways to add dimension and interest to your make-up look. When applying the shimmer, it is best to use your finger. The natural oils will help those shimmery bits lie nice and flat.

Brows

We’ve all seen the horror stories: eyebrows plucked to death, drawn on badly, or ones with a shape so wrong that it distorts the entire face. Those little strips of hair have a lot of power. Even if you’re filling them in, you want to keep it as natural as possible, so avoid making the beginning and end too dark.
