Pro Tips For Keeping Your Groceries Fresh

It’s such a terrible feeling when you spend a lot of money on groceries for the next few days, and they go bad before you had a chance to use them. But you don’t have to worry about that anymore because we have a few tips on how to keep your food fresh as long as possible.

Asparagus

If you want to keep asparagus fresh, you must first take it out of the plastic bag. The plastic bag will cause the stems of asparagus to harden and it will be inedible in a few days.

Instead, take the asparagus out of the bag and cut the bottoms of the stems off, then just place them upright in a glass with two inches of water. The water will keep the asparagus fresh for more than a week.

Berries

Berries usually rot and mold quickly. That’s mostly because people soak the berries in the water and store them in the airtight containers. You should drain the berries in a colander and allow them to dry a bit. Then just store them in a colander in your refrigerator so air can circulate around them.

Celery

Don’t store celery in the plastic bags. This can cause celery to wilt quickly. Instead of doing that, just store your celery in aluminum foil. It will surely keep your celery fresh and crisp for up to a week and a half.
