People are Decorating Sidewalks With Inspirational Sayings

Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen people find new and creative ways to spread positivity to others during these difficult times. #Chalkthewalk, the lastest movement taking over Instagram, takes it one step further by sending uplifting messages and pictures on sidewalks. You may have noticed some of these drawings during your strolls around the block.

The idea behind the movement is simple, it’s about letting people know that they’re not alone during the coronavirus and to put a smile on their faces during their walks.

During these times of social isolation, it’s super important to spend some time outside, even if it’s just a 10-minute walk around the block, as it improves your mental health and wellbeing while giving you a change of scenery.

To be part of the movement all you need is a bucket of sidewalk chalk and to start decorating your driveway or pavement. This happens to be a great, fun activity for kids as it teaches them the importance of looking out for others.

It’s also a great opportunity to thank all the service people like mailmen, bus drivers, and healthcare workers who are still working!
