Mango has re-released their sell-out Met Gala dress.
Earlier this year, Sofia Sanchez Barrenechea showed up to the Met Gala in a beautiful tropical ensemble. The color palette included sunburst oranges and deeper reddish hues, which had viewers lusting over the look.
It was later revealed that the dress was not from a big-name designer at all. It was actually a high street dress from Mango.
“We’re exaggerating the qualities of the mango, with the dégradé of the colours and the trapeze shape with different layers,” said Mango’s PR Director Ainhoa San Martin.
“The handbag that she’s wearing is in the shape of a mango. She has really big earrings in the shape of fruit. Everything together ties back to the ‘camp’ concept.”
Following the dresses debut on the red carpet, a more low-key version arrived in Mango stores. Due to the enormous popularity of the dress, it sold out very quickly.
