We all have a bunch of old shoeboxes we no longer need, but that doesn’t mean you should immediately throw them away. They can be used in numerous DIY projects, and we’ve got one for all the makeup enthusiasts out there.
YouTube channel Best for Her, which mostly specializes in beauty-themed DIY hacks and ideas, shared a fun tutorial where they demonstrate how to transform an old shoebox into a stylish and practical makeup organizer.
You’ll kick things off by wrapping your box into a decorative paper of your choosing, before using paperboard to split the box into different sections where you’re going to place your makeup. An elastic band can be tapped to the top, so you could use this section to secure smaller pieces, such as lip-glosses, mascaras, and eyeliners.
The author of this video also used ribbon, Velcro tape, and decorative buckles to give the makeup organizer a more authentic look, but this is entirely up to you. The tutorial simply shows the basic steps, while the final product depends on your own creativity and the materials you’re going to use.
