If we had to choose a celebrity that we look up to in terms of beauty and style, it would definitely be Jennifer Lopez. The actress and singer looks better than ever, so we had to wonder – what’s her secret? We found out that J Lo has a few beauty rules that she swears by and here are some of them.

Get Enough Sleep

Jennifer’s number one rule for keeping her skin healthy is getting plenty of sleep. A good night’s sleep can work miracles for your skin and there is a very good reason why we refer to it as “beauty sleep.”

“The number one tip is to always get enough sleep. I can’t stress this enough. Ideally I would love to get nine or 10 hours of sleep, but either way, I always make sure I get at least eight,” Lopez said in an interview with InStyle.

Eat Fruit and Veggies

Another rule that Lopez swears by is sticking to a healthy diet, which basically means eating plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables.

“Sorry, it’s true! I think drinking lots of water and fresh foods with lots of fruits and vegetables (I keep [them] with me at all time.) all play into the quality of skin’s appearance,” Lopez told People.

Avoid Smoking and Alcohol

We all know that smoking is extremely bad for our health and this means it has a negative impact on our skin as well. J Lo says she’s a big believer in leading a healthy lifestyle, which means that alcohol and cigarettes are strictly forbidden.
