Japanese Chef Carves Fruits and Vegetables Into Beautiful Works of Art

You can create beautiful works of art using pretty much anything, and Takehiro Kishimoto sees fruits and veggies as his main source of inspiration. The Japanese chef is mastering the art of Thaicarving and creating intricate food structures along the way.

Kishimoto’s work will win you over right away with its complexity and incredible attention to detail. His Instagram profile has attracted over 285k followers, who are constantly amazed by each of his carvings, even after getting familiar with his work over the years.

This artist carves floral, animal, and geometric motifs into different fruits and vegetables, but the inspiration behind them is quite clear. Traditional Japanese patterns are the basis for most of them, but he also uses Thai fruit carving technique to bring them to life.

Kishimoto describes what he does as Thaicarving because the masters of this craft originate from Thailand. Back in the 14th century, they started using similar designs to decorate the tables of the royal Thai family and this Japanese chef is using the same technique to spread their vision around the world.
