How To Make Your Cocktails Guilt-Free

Whether you celebrating with friends or just celebrating the end of the week, everyone loves a good cocktail. The trouble comes when you start adding in all the calories and sugar from the alcohol, mixers and add-ins. But don’t fear! By making some easy changes to your cocktail recipes there will be even more to toast to.

Make Your Own Mixer

A major cause of calorie and sugar intake from cocktails are store bought mixers. Instead, go ahead and make your own, it’s easier than you think! For example, all you need for margaritas is a simple syrup, which is equal parts water and sugar boiled, and lime juice. By controlling the amount of sugar in the drink, you don’t have to feel bad about going back for seconds.

Add Natural Sweetness

If you’re making homemade cocktails, why not go all the way and make your own juice! This is an easy way to cut out added sugar in your drinks, as well as provide your body with natural vitamins and minerals that are much needed when drinking.

Don’t Forget About Sparkling Water

Sparkling water is a calorie-free way of jazzing up your cocktails. Adding a bit of fizz is not only exciting but cost effective and will keep you more hydrated than adding bubbly wine.
