Prolonged sun exposure, salt water, and chlorine can really take a toll on our hair, which is why it’s important to think more about our hair care routine during summer. Here are a few tips on how you can change your hair routine to keep your hair healthy and shiny this summer.

Hydrate Your Hair

It’s only logical that our hair tends to be more dry and brittle during hot summer days, which means that keeping it hydrated should be your focus. Try to deep condition once a week and switch your shampoo and conditioner for rich and moisturizing formulas that are suitable for dry hair.

Wear a Hat

Exposing hair to direct sunlight is also one of the ways our hair can get damaged during summer, and that’s why wearing a hat can really make a difference. In case you don’t like hats, wearing scarves or hairbands is also a nice way to protect your hair and look stylish.

Avoid Hot Tools

This is pretty obvious, but we have to stress that using heat styling tools during summer can cause further damage to your hair. Summer is the perfect time to embrace a natural look and give your hair a break from curling irons, hair straighteners, and other tools.
