How to Be Responsible When Ordering Delivery During the Pandemic

Now that we’re all supposed to sit at home and cook our own meals instead of eating out, many people rely on delivery services to take a break from all the cooking and cleaning. You can absolutely continue ordering food during these hard times, you just have to be extra careful about it. Here’s how to do it responsibly.

Contact-Free

Whenever possible, choose contact-free delivery options. Many companies offer the option of the courier dropping off your food on the doorstep so you don’t have to meet them in person.

Throw Out Packaging

The first thing you should do after picking up your food is to throw away or recycle the containers immediately. Transfer the food into your own dishes and get rid of the containers to avoid the risk of touching contaminated surfaces.

Disinfect

Clean and disinfect all the surfaces in your home that had contact with delivery bags, boxes, etc.

Wash Hands

This is mandatory at all times, not just now — wash your hands thoroughly before you sit down to eat.
