Reality TV isn’t for everyone. But Love Island UK definitely is.

Watching love blossom between young couples and witnessing petty drama has never been more exciting.

The premise of Love Island is simple: A group of vibrant singles gather at an isolated villa in Mallorca and live there for 6 to 8 weeks under constant video surveillance. To survive on the “island,” the contestants must remain coupled up with someone else. The “islanders” couple up based on first impressions on their first day in the villa, but are forced to undergo “recouplings” throughout their stay. Any “islander” who remains single after the coupling is sent home. Contestants can also be eliminated by a public vote. During the final week, the public votes for their favorite couple who eventually takes home 50 grand.

Though it may just seem like another cheesy reality TV show, Love Island is much more than that. Viewers get to witness incredible romance and the type of drama that you become so easily invested in. Love Island is also a great escape from your daily life and stressors, as it truly captivates you and gives your mind a break from more serious matters.
