Getting creative in the kitchen is one of the best ways to spend your socially distanced days. There are all sorts of creations you can make, and when it comes to eggs, there is something special you need to try.

Most people like to eat traditional chicken eggs, but the grey speckled eggs that come from quails are a delicious treat. Quail eggs are smaller than chicken eggs, and they are much lower in calories. One egg is only about 14 calories and packed full of nutrients.

Here are some recipe ideas to get you started.

Scotch Quail Eggs

Scotch eggs are delicious with soft or hard-boiled eggs. The pre-cooked eggs are covered in sausage meat, and then deep-fried. Quail eggs can be substituted to create a slightly different flavor, and a smaller sized scotch egg.

Hash Brown Nests

Another great way to incorporate quail eggs into a nice brunch menu is with hash brown nests. Grate the potatoes, and form little nests which are then baked in the oven. After they have browned, crack three quail eggs into the nests and let them bake for a couple of minutes. The little nests are a great brunch item when plated with fruit and bacon.
