Public Holiday was founded in 2014, by multidisciplinary designer Carly Buteux who had a multifaceted background in the world of design before embarking on this creative journey. She set out to create functional, yet imperfect ceramic pieces that put an emphasis on simplicity of form.
According to the brand’s official website, “repetition, pattern, and color” are also important in the creation of their ceramic vessels, and their natural colors and textures from a variety of stoneware clays are one of their main features.
Mugs are the biggest hits, but their offer also includes a wide range of planters, cups, bowls, and travel cups, ranging in price between $50 and $150 if you’re lucky enough to find them in stock.
