Toilet habits are not exactly dinner table conversation, but it makes it a whole lot more relatable when you realize that everybody poops. E-ve-ry-body. Although for some, doing a number two can be a bit of a struggle. If you’re often plagued by constipation (or are looking to avoid it), we’re here to help. 

Fiber is Your Friend

Your bestie of 10 years may hold a special place in your heart, but fiber has a special place in your gut. It is literally what helps stool move through your digestive tract easily. So load up on fruits, veggies, whole grains, and legumes. If you want extra fighting power, include natural laxatives like prunes, psyllium husk, and flaxseed.

Stress Sucks

No one enjoys stress. Particularly not your bowels. Experiencing angst can quite literally cause the muscles in your system to tense up, making it difficult to go. Do some breathing techniques, practice a little meditation, and try to release as much stress as you can. 

Hydration Station

When you are not properly hydrated, your poop can turn into a rock monster. Make sure you’re getting enough H2O throughout the day. Some people claim that coffee makes them feel movement below, but this is definitely not a replacement for water.
