Going to the salon to get a pedicure is a nice way to treat yourself, but it’s important to keep your feet at their best even between the salon visits. As many of us are currently forced to stay at home and miss out on beauty salons, among many other things, here’s how you can give yourself a perfect pedicure at home.
1. Remove Nail Polish
The first step should always be removing the old nail polish so you can give your nails the chance to absorb the ingredients from the products you will use later. Even if you didn’t have any polish on, wiping the nails with a cotton pad soaked in nail polish remover will remove any oils and dirt.
2. Soak
Enjoy as your feet are soaking for around 15 minutes in warm water and soap of your favorite smell. You can use this time to relax, read, or try a new face mask.
3. File and Moisturize
After you’ve removed the excess water from your feet, use a file to get rid of dead skin and moisturize your whole feet.
4. Shape Nails
Shorten your toenails and use a file to achieve the desired shape. You can trim or cut the cuticles if you want at this point and apply cuticle oil.
5. Paint Nails
Choose your favorite color and paint your nails in two thin layers, but make sure to apply the base coat before that and a quick-drying top coat after.
