Washing your produce is one of the most essential ways to stay healthy. Oftentimes produce is sprayed with all sorts of chemicals, and you don’t want to consume those or have anyone in your family do so. Luckily, you can easily get them off with this simple DIY produce wash. This wash is completely natural and can be organic if you choose an organically certified vinegar, which can either be apple cider or white.

Regular Vegetables and Fruits

For this wash, all you need to do is combine 1 part vinegar and 4 parts water in a spray bottle. In addition to that, add in 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, Mix it well in the spray bottle. Then, put all the fruits and vegetables you want in a colander and spray the produce. Let it sit for 2-5 minutes, and wash it off well.

Leafy Greens

For leafy greens, you do need a slightly different solution. The same 1 part vinegar and 4 parts water apply, but instead of 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, use 1 tablespoon of salt. Put the greens in a colander and spray all over. Leave it for 2-5 minutes and then wash off well. Dry with paper towels and spin dry in a salad spinner.
