Summer’s nail trends are all about fun prints—including evil eyes, clouds, and butterflies—and Demi Lovato just gave us another one. The former Disney star is a huge fan of nails with alien print, and it turns out she’s not the only one.
Lovato’s green nails are the work of Natalie Minerva, the founder of Los Angeles-based salon Nail Swag. She works with several celebrity clients, including Doja Cat and Alexa Demie, and her creations often include eye-catching prints, such as fruits, clouds, and butterflies.
Minerva can be credited for putting this rising trend on the map alongside Lovato, but she’s not the only one. A quick Instagram search reveals many other nail artists are creating equally impressive alien nails right now.
Lovato’s nails actually seem pretty basic when compared to the rest of the alien nail art we stumbled upon. They often come in a similar bright green shade, but the alien symbols are usually combined with tiny drawings of rainbows, space ships, peace signs, stars, and other colorful motifs.
